Abahai

"Abahai" is also erroneously used to refer to Hong Taiji.

Lady Abahai (Manchu:

; Chinese: 阿巴亥 Ābāhài) (1590–1626) was a high-ranking concubine of Emperor Nurhaci of the Manchu, Jin dynasty in ancient China. She married Nurhaci in 1602, when she was only twelve years old. After the death of Empress Xiao Cigao (the natural birth mother of Emperor Hong Taiji) in 1603, she was granted the title of Da Fei (大妃). She was member of the Ula clan.

She was the daughter of prince Mantai of the Ula-Nara tribe of the Hulun nation and granddaughter of Wangtai, Khan of the Hada.

She was also the birth mother of princes Dorgon (多"衮) (1612–1650), Dodo (多") (1614–1649), and Ajige (阿济格) (1605–1651). She was forced to commit suicide by her stepsons, including Hong Taiji who thought she might be a barrier to his succession. She died in 1626, aged thirty-seven.
