2005) was a publisher of the
Burda Group, a media group based in
Offenburg and
Munich,
Germany.
Born
Anna Magdalene Lemminger in
Offenburg,
German Empire, Burda was married to
Franz Burda II, son of the founder (
Franz Burda I) of the Burda Group in
1898. Aenne and her husband helped to expand the family business into women's magazines. The
Burda Group has 250 publications worldwide, with 70 in
Germany alone.
She died in her native Offenburg, Germany, at the age of 96 from natural causes.
Aenne Burda was the mother-in-law of actress
Maria Furtwängler.
