Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television which aired from 1994 to 1995, based on the original 1992 feature. Coming on the heels of the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar, the series picked up where that installment left off, with Aladdin still living on the streets of Agrabah, still unwed to beautiful and spunky Princess Jasmine.

Disney's Aladdin continued the fantasy/magic adventures of the feature films, carrying "Al" and Jasmine into peril among sorcerers, monsters, thieves, and more. Monkey sidekick Abu and the fast-talking, shape-shifting Genie came along to help, as did sassy, complaining parrot Iago, formerly Jafar's pet but now a grudgingly good guy. In place of movie villain Jafar, the series introduced evil sorcerer Mozenrath, megalomaniacal inventor Mechanicles and dark evil incarnate Mirage, among others. The show never featured Jafar (due to plot reasons in The Return of Jafar) but featured the thief who released him in the movie, Abis Mal.

Debuting simultaneously on Saturday morning and as part of the syndicated weekday Disney Afternoon, the show set a pattern for several future Disney series. Many of the films' stars provided the voices of their TV counterparts with Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer Simpson), filling in for Robin Williams in the Genie role.

Aladdin was a hit, capturing the films' clever mix of fantastic adventure with some of the best characters, usually from cynical Iago, the ruthless Mozenrath and the wisecracking Genie. After a successful run of original programs, the show continued in syndicated repeats and in a third feature, the direct-to-video Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

It is now shown in reruns on Toon Disney but due to bad scheduling and the addition of JETIX, it is now only on weekends, but since the show airs during the Princess Power Hour Block, only the episodes featuring Jasmine are shown; The Disney Channel reran the series in the late-1990s until their pre-teen lineup took over.

The show also became extremely popular with Arabic speaking viewers when it aired on MBC 3 dubbed in Arabic (Most or all of the characters were voiced by Egyptian actors)= Characters =
