Amonet (Stargate)
Amonet is
Apophis's beloved
Goa'uld queen, for whom he seeks a proper human host. For this he travels to several worlds and kidnapped women. One of these women are a female soldier of the currently closed
Stargate Command; another is
Daniel Jackson's wife,
Sha're, whom he kidnaps from
Abydos. Amonet in the meantime resides in a female
Jaffa, who is called by Apophis several times to let his wife look on the captured females so that she is able to choose a new host. However, if Amonet does not like the human, the woman is killed by Apophis; this happens to the female soldier from SGC. However, when she is presented with Sha're, Amonet takes her as her new host, after which she is presented to Apophis' followers.
Because of these events Jackson becomes a member of
SG-1 and with them searches the galaxy for Sha're. He meets her again in the second season episode
Secrets, when he, together with
Teal'c, visits Abydos to tell Sha're's father
Kasuf what has happened to his children. Kasuf, much to the shock of Daniel, presents them with a highly pregnant Sha're. Sha're tells him that Apophis is the father and that Amonet is sleeping, because if the Goa'uld were to awake the child would be born dead. She also tells him that the child will be a
Harcesis, an unpossessed human who contains all the genetic memory of the Goa'uld. When her son
Shifu is born, Amonet again takes control of Sha're and orders Daniel Jackson to give her the child; however, he refuses. She then is taken back by Apophis, but does not reveal the hidden SG-1 team to him. Amonet even lies to him, telling him that
Heru-ur has kidnapped the child. However, Amonet returns for the boy a year after his birth, sending him to the planet Kheb with one of her handmaidens.
She appears for a final time in the season three episode
Forever in a Day, when she kidnaps several people from Abydos who are shortly thereafter rescued by SG-1. During these events Daniel follows Amonet into her tent, where she attacks him with her
hand device. To prevent Daniel from being killed, Teal'c is forced to fire his
staff weapon at her, killing not only Amonet but also Sha're. Daniel cries over his dead wife, but decides to find the
Harcesis, the last legacy of his wife.
