Anambas

Anambas archipelago (Kepulauan Anambas in Indonesian) is a small archipelago of Indonesia, located in the South China Sea between east and west Malaysia and Kalimantan. The island group is part of the Riau Islands province, and are sometimes included in the larger Natuna Islands, located several hundred kilometers to the east.

Anambas has a large reserve of natural gas that is exported to countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. The island Matak (Pulau Matak) is the main base for oil exploration.

Other islands are Tarempah and Jemaja Andriabu.
