Ashikita, Kumamoto

Ashikita (芦北ç"º; -machi) is a town located in Ashikita District, Kumamoto, Japan.

On January 1, 2005, the town of Tanoura merged into Ashikita. As of this merger but with 2003 population data, the town has an estimated population of 21,644 and a density of 46.2 persons per km². The total area is 468.17 km².

There is a beach at Ashkita, as well as a marine park, where you can ride a roller luge or try zorbing.
