The Atlantic City Surf are an Atlantic League baseball team based in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Since the 1998 season, they have played in the South Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which is not affilitated with Major League Baseball.

Prior to the founding of the Surf, Atlantic City had gone 66 years without professional baseball. The Bacharach Giants played in the Eastern Colored League from 1923 to the league's folding during the 1928 season, winning the league in 1926 and 1927. They continued in the American Negro League in 1929 and were independent until they folded as a professional team in 1932.

The Surf won the first-ever Atlantic League championship in 1998.

Bacharach Giants

Atlantic City was home to the Bacharach Giants between the years 1916 and 1932. The Giants were originally the Duval Giants, playing in Jacksonville, Florida, until they moved to Atlantic City in 1916, where they assumed the name of Bacharach Giants after the city's mayor, Harry Bacharach. They were independent from 1916 to 1922 and from 1930 to 1933, members of the Eastern Colored League from 1923 to 1928, affiliated with the American Negro League in 1929, and spent their last season in the Negro National League in 1932. They won two pennants with the leadership of Dick Lundy and such excellent players as Oliver Marcelle, Smokey Joe Williams, John Henry Lloyd, and Arthur "Rats" Henderson.
