Bayerisch Eisenstein

Bayerisch Eisenstein a German village in Bavaria of about 1400 inhabitants.

Bayerisch Eisenstein is part of Bayerischer Wald and near to the first German national park established in 1970.

It is one of a trio of connected places in the area. The other two, Železná Ruda (Boehmisch Eisenstein in Czech Republic), lies 2 kilometres further northeast. The third is Markt Eisenstein (Spicak in Czech Republic. The town's railway station is split by the border.

Today, trains run to both halves of the station from the relative countries. From May 2006, the local German train service, the Waldbahn, is due to start running across the border to Spicak in Czech Republic.

Bayerisch Eisenstein lies on the road from Deggendorf to Pilsen.
