Charles McKeown
Charles McKeown (b.
1943?) is a British actor and writer, perhaps best known for his collaborations with
Terry Gilliam. He co-wrote with Gilliam and
Tom Stoppard the screenplay for
Brazil (
1985) for which he was nominated, along with them, for an
Academy Award. He appeared as Harvey Lime in
Brazil as well. In
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (
1989) McKeown again co-wrote the screenplay with Gilliam and co-starred as Adolphus and Rupert.
Other notable screen credits for McKeown include: Several bit parts in
Monty Python's Life of Brian (
1979), The Theater Manager in Gilliam's
Time Bandits (
1981), Jerry Hadley in
Spies Like Us (1985), and Sven's Father in
Eric The Viking (1989). He has also written the screenplays for
Plunkett & Macleane (
1999) and
Ripley's Game (
2002). McKeown has also appeared on numerous television series including:
