David Lascelles, Viscount Lascelles
David Lascelles, Viscount Lascelles (born
21 October 1950) is a
film producer and the eldest son of
George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood and his first wife,
Marion Stein. He is 40th in
line to the British throne, and
Heir Apparent of the
Earldom of Harewood.
Lascelles was born in
Bayswater,
London and was baptised at All Saints' Church,
Harewood. His godparents were
The Duchess of Edinburgh (now Elizabeth II),
Queen Mary,
The Viscountess Boyne,
Benjamin Britten and
Gerald Lascelles.
On
12 February 1979, he married
Margaret Rosalind Messenger (born 1948): they were divorced in 1989. In 1990, he married
Diana Jane Howse. The two eldest children of
Viscount Lascelles and his first wife,
Margaret, Viscountess Lascelles, were born out of wedlock and therefore have no claims to the
Harewood titles:
Emily Lascelles (born 1975) and
Benjamin Lascelles (born 1978). Their younger two children are legitimate:
Hon. Alexander Lascelles (born 1980) (who is next in line, after his father, to inherit the
earldom of Harewood) and
Hon. Edward Lascelles (born 1982).
