Dinorwig

For the power station, see Dinorwig power station

Dinorwig is a small village located high above Llyn Padarn, near Llanberis, in Wales.

It was a major supplier of workers to the local Dinorwig slate quarry, and as a result, grew in size. However, with the close of the quarries in the first half of the 20th century, the village became home to people working in nearby Bangor or Caernarfon, the local economy suffered, and the schools, shops and businesses closed as people moved away.

Today, the village shares its name with a new hydroelectric power station, Dinorwig power station
