Eliwood

Eliwood

'Eliwood is a fictional character in the popular video game Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, the first Fire Emblem game to be released in the U.S.

He is a swordsman on a quest to find his father, Elbert, who had been kidnapped by the Dark Druid Nergal. He finds his father at the Dragon's Gate, but arrives too late as a dancer named Ninian, under the control of Nergal, kills Elbert at the end of Chapter 19. Ironically, Eliwood's sword Durandal kills Ninian when she is in her Dragon form later in the game. Eliwood battles with a group of assassins called the Black Fang, morphs, and lastly a Fire Dragon to reach his destination. He is equipped with a rapier, and later, the Durandal, which he uses to battle Nergal and the Fire Dragon.

Eliwood also appears in Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals, but only through a very short period into the game.

Eliwood's mother is Eleanora, who is guarded by the paladin Isadora (which you later get in the game), and his son is Roy, who first appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee, then the sixth Fire Emblem game, which was made before Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (the seventh Fire Emblem installment), the aforementioned Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi.

Eliwood's statistics are average all-around, but his luck is higher than the rest. Often, he tends to be somewhat lopsided, or weak in his statistics, having no real specialties (or weaknesses). Because his statistical growths are often average, he tends to lack in certain areas at some times, while in other areas at another. Nevertheless, he has a great amount of potential, and is a solid unit. With a Heaven's Seal, you can change his classfrom Lord to Knight Lord, which turns him into a mounted unit with the ability to use lances as well as swords.

During Lyndis's quest(placed one year before Eliwood's), he helps Lyn prove herself as the rightful heir to the throne of Caelin, another Lycian territory. It is possible that he has feelings for her, mostly proven in a conversation between him and good friend Hector (Fire Emblem) in Chapter 13x. He also develops feelings for Ninian, the dancer of the group. The bard Nils, her younger brother, reminds her that she is a half-dragon and can't fall in love with him. Depending on who he has max (A grade) support with, he will either marry Lyndis, the Pegasus Knight Fiora (eldest sister of Lyn's friend Florina) or Ninian (who is revived by Brammimond at the end of the game).

Eliwood also has a very large chance of making it into the new Super Smash Bros. Brawl game for the Nintendo Wii.

Oddly enough, he was second for 2003 NP's "Are you hot or not?" category for not hot.
