Gary Lucy
Gary Edward Lucy is an English television
actor, born in
Chigwell,
Essex,
England on
November 27,
1981. His family consists of Rosemary [Ros] and Gary Senior (Parents) and older sister (Samantha).
Growing up, Lucy wanted to be a professional footballer, even trying out for the
Tottenham and
Watford youth teams. However, he didn't make the grade and so he turned his attention to acting.
He has been dating paediatric nurse Natasha Gray for the last couple of years and in August 2005 Gray gave birth to the couple's first child, India Jasmine. According to Lucy, they do plan to marry but are in no real rush to do so.
Lucy cut his acting teeth in shows like
Grange Hill and
Dream Team before getting the role that would totally change his career, Luke Morgan in
Hollyoaks. In this teen soap Lucy did a male rape storyline, which got him major recognition for the outstanding acting he did during the storyline. He even won the 'best newcomer' award at the 2000 British Soap Awards. After the conclusion of the storyline Lucy decided to leave
Hollyoaks . He then went on to do three series of the ITV1 drama
Footballers' Wives where he played footballer Kyle Pascoe. In 2004 Lucy starred alongside
Ray Winstone in the ITV drama
She's Gone as Micheal Sands. Lucy can currently be seen as PC Will Fletcher in ITV's
The Bill.
