Georgy Voronoy

Georgy Voronoy.

Georgy Voronoy ('ороной "еоргий Феодосьевич, 28 April, 186820 November, 1908) was a famous Russian mathematician of Ukrainian descent. Among other things, he defined the Voronoi diagram.

Voronoi studied at St Petersburg University where he was a student of Andrey Markov. He then worked at the Warsaw University where he worked on continued fractions. Wacław Sierpiński was one of his students.
