Haringey Borough F.C.

Haringey Borough F.C. are a football club based in London, England. They currently play in the Spartan South Midlands Football League, and were founder members of this league in 1997.

The club has seen many mergers in its long history but perhaps the oldest teams that have contributed are Wood Green Town F.C. and Tufnell Park F.C., both formed in the early twentieth century and members of the London League. Tufnell Park F.C. joined the Spartan League in 1910-11 and in their first season finished as runner-up, only missing out on the title due to a lower goal difference.

In 1912 they were a founder member of the Athenian League, and in 1913-14 became Athenian League Champions. In the 1919-20 season they joined the Isthmian League and finished as runners up in the F.A. Amateur Cup. The following season they finished third, again missing out on a higher placing due to an inferior goal difference.

In 1950 the club merged with Edmonton Borough F.C. to form Tufnell Park Edmonton F.C.. The new club left the Isthmian League in 1952 to join the Spartan League. Two seasons later they joined the Delphian League.

In 1960 the club changed its name again to Edmonton F.C.. During the 1962-63 season, the normal Delphian League competition was aborted due to horrendous weather conditions, and emergency competitions were organised. Edmonton F.C. became Delphian League Western Section Champions and won the overall title after beating the Eastern Section winners Hertford Town in a playoff over two legs. The Delphian League was then disbanded altogether and Edmonton F.C. became one of the founder members of the Athenian League. In the 1969-70 season they finished as Athenian League Division Two runners-up and were promte to Division One.

In 1973 they were renamed as Edmonton & Haringey F.C., and in 1976 to Haringey Borough F.C. after merging with Wood Green Town F.C..

The team joined the Isthmian League Division Two North in 1984-85 and remained members until 1988, when they left the League. Haringay Borough F.C. spent the 1988-89 season inactive, but rejoined the Spartan League the following season.

In 1995 they changed their name back to the original Tufnell Park F.C. for one season, before becoming Haringey Borough F.C. again.

They were founder members of Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division South in 1997-98.
