HMS Hibernia

Four ships of the Royal Navy have borne the name HMS Hibernia after the Latin name of Ireland.
* HMS Hibernia, 74, was a sloop launched in 1765, and renamed Prince of Wales
* HMS Hibernia, 110, was a ship of the line launched in 1804 and broken up almost a century later, having served for many years as the base flagship at Malta.
* HMS Hibernia was launched as HMS Achilles in 1863 but briefly renamed Hibernia between 1902 and 1904.
* HMS Hibernia was a pre-dreadnought battleship launched in 1905 and broken up in Germany after being sold in 1921. On 2 May 1912 she became the first ship to launch an aircraft whilst moving.
