IOLKOS Publishers (Εκδόσεις Ιωλκός) founded in 1961 by Greek journalist-writer Giannis Koridis. In 1990 IOLKOS' owner became his sun Konstantinos I. Koridis. Today is middle Publisher with 30 titles of books per year.
In the 45 years of working IOLKOS publishers, received 6 Government owned Rewards, 5 Rewards of Academy of Athens and a lot of other. In 2003 the Company of Greek Christian Literature rewarded IOLKOS publications as the best of the year 2002.
In 2000 IOLKOS Publications decided to turn in the Modern Greek history inaugurating the series of books HISTORY that today numbers 13 titles. Her subjects vary: Greek Revolution 1821, Greek Civil War 1945-49, Greco-Italian War, Dictatorship 1967-1973, National Resistance 1941-44. This moment series of books HISTORY are considered one of the best and most revealing in Greece. IOLKOS have worked with GreenHill Books in UK, Robert Laffont Editions in France, AEGIS CONSULTING GROUP in USA, PARFORCE UK LTD in UK and with Estate of Hugh Trevor-Roper in UK (for WORLD WAR II books-titles) and with ORION.
