Iustin Capra

Iustin Capra (born 22 February 1933) is a Romanian engineer. He was born in Magureni, Prahova, Romania. He become famous for inventing and building small vehicles that consumed very little fuel. Before that he invented the first individual jet apparatus, which allows a person to fly by jet.

His creative ingenuity attracted the attention of the Romanian government of the time and he then got support for the production of his tiny and funny vehicles, mostly due to the economic tensions created by the Oil Crisis.

Iustin Capra's most famous car was the SOLETA 150 ECOR; it had a total weight of 95 kg and was capable of covering 100 km with 0.5 liters of fuel. He also produced another model, the SOLETA I.C.200, which could reach 67 km/h.

Iustin Capra has never produced his cars industrially, but he cultivated an interest in super-mini vehicles that has finally led to the Lastun project, a super mini car that was produced for a few years in the late 1980s.
