Jaish-e-Mohammed

Jaish-e-Mohammed or Jaishi-Mohammed (the Army of Muhammad) (JEM) (Arabic-alphabet spelling in Urdu and Arabic: جيش محمد) is a Jihadi militant Islamist group based in Pakistan formed in 1994, receiving some funding from Pakistani expatrates (Birmingham), and active in carrying out armed attacks on Indian armed forces and civilians in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was founded by Azhar masood. It is not to be confused with the Iraqi Mohammad's Army.

The group's demand is the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir's accession to Pakistan.

The group is one of 42 groups that are under the United States's foreign terrorist organizations list.
