James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Moray

James Stewart (or Stuart), 2nd Earl of Moray (c. 1565 - February 7, 1592), was a Scottish nobleman, the son of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune.

As a result of his marriage to Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray, James became Earl of Moray. He was murdered by George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly in 1592. He is the subject of the famous ballad The Bonnie Earl of Moray.
