Joseth Moore
Joseth Moore (first name pronounced Jo-
Seth),
science fiction author and social and environmental activist, was born in
Lincoln, Nebraska on
May 26,
1970. His parents had moved to Lincoln from
Birmingham, Alabama in 1969 prior to his birth.
Moore studied the Fine Arts and the Humanities at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received his Bachelors of Fine Arts there in 1993. Moore has, arguably, been the most exhibited
African-American artist in Lincoln's history, and perhaps that of Nebraska's. Moore showcased his modern art from circa 1989 to 2003. While at UNL, Moore studied extensive scientific courses such as Astronomy, Anthropology, Biology, Sociology and other Humanities courses that aided him in understanding science which he uses in his Science Fiction novels.
Moore's first novel, "Lunar Legends," was published in 2003. His most recent novel to date is "The Solar Bridge: The Unintended Consequences of Time Travel (2005)." Moore also has a short story published with the online Sci-Fi publication
Another Realm called "There's NO Place Like Zone (2003)."
Moore is also known for his Leftist political activism. He was a delegate with
Nebraskans For Peace in 2002 and had gone to
Washington, D.C. to lobby his Congresspeople against the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste project. He often protested the Iraq War in Lincoln and also in Omaha. Moore is an active member with the Lancaster County Democrats and is a member of the
Democratic Socialists of America.
Moore is married to ShelleyAnn Moore and they have two children, Felisha and Gracie. They currently reside in Lincoln.
