Kaitain

Kaitain may stand for
*Kaitain (Dune), home planet of Imperial House Corrino in the Dune universe.

Kaitain is the capital planet of the Imperium and the seat of power of the Imperial House Corrino. Originally, Salusa Secundus was the former capital world of the Imperium of a Million Worlds and the seat of the Imperial House Corrino.

But an attack from a Great House of the Landsraad rendered the planet practically uninhabitable.

The Imperial House Corrino erased the Great House from all of the pre-historical records, and overtook their brand-new home planet, Kaitain.

Therefore, the name of the attacking Great House remains unknown.

Kaitain is the largest and most luxurious garden planet of verdant rainforests, breathtaking savannah, magnificent rock formations, and crystal-cleared, refreshing sapphire-blue oceans.

The architecture here is resplendent, nearly gaudy, in its excesses.

Kaitain is always home to a number of impressive palaces built by the previous Padishah Emperors and Padishah Empresses of the Known Universe, including the Imperial Opal Palace that was located on the top of Mount Corrin, the tallest peak on the planet and destination of many brave adventurers; and more besides.

It was very is lush and verdant with city-sized palatial buildings and spaceports, and its best primary exports are the minerals, whale furs, champagne, precious gemstones, fine furs, and rare metals (especially Heigliners, artillery, ormi-thopter, and ormi-tank missiles).
