Kathy Greenwood
Kathryn Greenwood (born
March 21,
1962 in
Scarborough,
Ontario) is a
Canadian comedian and
actor. She appeared regularly on the American version of
Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and played Grace Bailey on the Canadian television drama series
Wind At My Back.
Greenwood has worked in television, radio, theatre, and film. In Canada, she is known for her guest-starring appearances on television shows, including
Royal Canadian Air Farce,
This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and others. She has also had several starring roles, one of which comes from her improvised sitcom,
This Sitcom Is...Not to Be Repeated, in which she and the rest of the cast perform an improvised sitcom based on suggestions from the audience.
In 1999, she crossed the border, and commuted to
Los Angeles, California, where she guest-starred on such American shows as
The Drew Carey Show and
Hollywood Squares. She is perhaps best known in the U.S. for her recurring guest spots on the American version of the improvisational game show
Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Fans of
Whose Line have had a mixed reaction to her, with some referring to her as "The Weak Link."
In 2004, she provided the voice for Debbie Sue Ashanti-Melendez in the comedic series
The Wrong Coast. As of 2006, Kathy is busy in Canada, starring in various plays and productions across Ontario and is part of the all-female sketch troupe
Women Fully Clothed.
She has written a play,
Our Favourite Thing, which became a hit across Canada.
She is married to local television writer John Dolan, and they have two children, Josephine and Phoebe.
