Kopargaon

Kopargaon is a taluka in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India.

It is situated on the bank of Godavari river. It is 40 km from Manmad railway junction. The famous temple of Sai Baba at Shirdi is 17 km away from the College complex. The present population of the town is about 63,000 inhabitants. The climate of Kopargaon is moderate and the place has all the modern amenitie s.

There are three sugar factories around Kopargaon. A new industrial chemical complex has also been set up to manufacture alcohol from cane molasses and basic chemicals such as acetic acid, ethyl acetate, oxalic acid, diethyl oxalate etc. In addition to this, there is an industrial estate having 52 small scale industries, milk dairy etc. The society also runs English medium school, industrial training Centre, pre-cadet police training and driving school & military school, college of engineering and pharmacy. Kopargaon is also the only Railway Station near Shirdi, the famous temple of Sai Baba.
