Liminka

Liminka railway station

Liminka (Limingo in Swedish) is a municipality in the province of Oulu, in Finland. Founded in 1477, Liminka is located about 25 kilometres south of Oulu. The population of Liminka is 6,831 (August 31, 2004) and the municipality covers an area of 643.59 km² (excluding sea areas) of which 4.78 km² is inland water (January 1, 2004). The population density is 10.1 inhabitants per km² (January 1, 2004).

The Bay of Liminka (Liminganlahti in Finnish) is a famous bird paradise.
