List of colonial governors of New Hampshire

This list identifies the men who governed the New Hampshire Colony of Great Britain.

Governors of the Upper Plantation of New Hampshire

In 1631, the first governor of the province of the Upper Plantation of New Hampshire was appointed, comprising modern-day Dover, Durham, and Stratham. In 1641 the Upper Plantation of New Hampshire agreed to join with the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

From 1680 to 1741, the Governor of Massachusetts Bay was senior, and a Lieutenant Governor headed the New Hampshire Council.
