Lorenzo Zambrano

Lorenzo H. Zambrano Treviño (b. 1945 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon) is a Mexican businessman. He is the chairman and CEO of CEMEX, one of the largest cement companies in the world.

Zambrano was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León into an upper-class family. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies in 1966 and an MBA from Stanford University in 1968.

In 1968 he joined CEMEX, a cement company founded by his grandfather, and in 1985 became its chief executive officer. He is a member of the board of IBM, Citigroup, the Chairman's Council of Daimler Chrysler AG, Fomento Económico Mexicano, Alfa, Grupo Financiero Banamex, Grupo Televisa, the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies, the Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Advisory Council and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey.

Zambrano and family ranked 292 in Forbes Magazine World's Richest People list for 2005.
