Mallikarjun Mansur

Mallikarjun Mansur (1901-1992) was one of greatest examples of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana of Hindusthani Khayal singing.

A major influence on his singing were his gurus Manji Khan and Burji Khan who were the sons of Ustad Alladiya Khan - the latter is perhaps the most significant figure of 20th century Hindustani classical music. His early training was under Pandit Nilkanth Bua of Miraj who belonged to Gwalior Gharana.

Two of his greatest recordings are Raga Shivmat Bhairav and Raga Bahaduri Todi. He has also written a book titled Nanna Rasayatre (in Kannada).

He is a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan.
