Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett
Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett (born
22 October,
1929), is the son of
William Norman Birkett, 1st Baron Birkett and Ruth Nilsson. He married, firstly, Junia Elliott on
13 October,
1960 which he later divorced. Then married, secondly, Gloria Taylor, daughter of Thomas Taylor, in 1978. He and Gloria later had a child
Hon. Thomas Birkett (born
25 July,
1982), which is the heir apparent to the barony.
Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett was educated in Stowe School,
Buckingham,
Buckinghamshire, and at
Cambridge University,
Cambridge,
England.
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Birkett, of
Ulverston, in the
County Palatine of
Lancashire in the
Peerage of the United Kingdom (created 1958) on 10 February 1962. He was admitted to Currier's Company, as a Master between 1975 and 1976. He was a
film producer and
theatre director. He lived in 2003 in Great Allfields, Balls Cross,
Petworth,
Sussex, England.
