Michael Wilson (footballer)

Michael Wilson (born November 21, 1976) is an Australian rules footballer for the Port Adelaide Football Club.

He began his career as part of Port Adelaide's inaugural 1997 squad that entered the AFL. Playing as a medium-sized defender, he immediately made an impression and took out the AFL Rising Star award for the best young prospect.

Wilson suffered many injuries during his career, including both shoulders, but he overcame that with a solid season in 2004 when he was also a part of Port Adelaide's first ever premiership in the AFL.
