Mizuno Nobumoto

(? - 27 January 1576), was a Japanese general.

He was born as a son of Mizuno Tadamasa and a brother of Mizuno Tadashige. He was the lord of the Kariya Castle and a warlord.

Nobumoto sided with Oda Nobuhide during the year of 1542, switching his allegiance from the Imagawa family. But soon went on to once again serve under the Matsudaira. His job was to hold the Kariya Castle.

Oda Nobunaga blamed that Nobumoto had sold rice to the likes of Akiyama Nobutomo (a rival Takeda officer), during the year of 1576. Tokugawa Ieyasu thus then sent Hiraiwa Chikayoshi to kill him. Nobumoto's brother, Mizuno Tadashige then went on to take Nobutomo's place.

Nobumoto is buried in the Mizuno family temple, Ryogon-ji, a Zen Buddhist monastery established in 1413, in Kariya, Japan.
