The
Monthon Surat Thani (, originally named
Monthon Chumphon มà¸"ฑลชุมพร) was an administrative subdivision of
Thailand in the beginning of the 20th century. It covered the northeastern part of
Southern Thailand.
The monthon was established in 1896, with its administration located in
Chumphon, containing the provinces
Chumphon,
Chaiya,
Kanchanadit and
Lang Suan. Langsuan was later incorporated into Chumphon, while Kanchanadit was merged into Chaiya in
1899. In
1915 the monthon court was moved to the town Bandon, which was renamed to
Surat Thani in the same year. The monthon was subsequently also renamed. In 1925 it was incorporated into the
Monthon Nakhon Si Thammarat, which like all monthon was dismantled in 1933.
