Morris Communications

Morris Communications of Augusta, Georgia is a privately held media company with diversified holdings that include newspapers, magazines, outdoor advertising, radio broadcasting, travel-related publications and online services.

The company publishes 27 daily newspapers and a number of nondaily newspapers with a combined circulation in the range of 700,000. They include the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, the Amarillo Globe-News in Amarillo, Texas, the Athens Banner-Herald in Athens, Georgia, the Savannah Morning News in Savannah, Georgia, and the Augusta Chronicle.

Morris operates 33 radio stations in the United States, plus Riviera Radio in Monaco.

Its book division, Globe Pequot Press, is one of the world's leading publishers and distributors of outdoor recreation and leisure titles. Morris also is the publisher of the northwestern American travel guide.

Morris Communications is separate from Morris Multimedia, which was founded by Charles H. Morris, a member of the same family that founded Morris Communications.
