Murray Park
Murray Park is the name of
Rangers F.C.'s training facility in
Auchenhowie,
Milngavie, on the outskirts of
Glasgow. The complex was first proposed by the then manager
Dick Advocaat when he arrived at the club in
1998. Murray Park is world renowned for it's top class facilities which have played a part in luring transfer targets to sign for Rangers. The
South Korea national team, then managed by Dick Advocaat, hired the facilities for their training before the
2006 FIFA World Cup. £14 million pounds was spent on the facilities, and it was named after the chairman
David Murray. The complex has since produced first team players like Charlie Adam, Alan Hutton, Stevie Smith and Chris Burke. However the park is not producing the talent expected and the team is currently recruiting from Chelsea and taking loan youths from Manchester Utd.Murray's Folly is commomly referred to by Celtic and rangers fans as The White Elephant.
