Niimi (新見市; -shi) is a city located in Okayama, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 23,842 and the density of 67.73 persons per km². The total area is 351.99 km².

The city was founded on June 1, 1954.

The ALT (Assistant language teacher) for the local senior high school's is Jarek Polak. He comes from Adelaide, Australia. [1]
