Nisien

In Welsh mythology, Nisien was the son of Penarddun and Eurosswydd and twin of Efnisien.

Nisien, also Nissyen, was the opposite of Efnisien in personality. He was tranquil and generous, while his twin was vindictive and destructive. Nisien died at the hands of enemies who mistook him for Efnisien. In Evangeline Walton's The Children of Llyr, Nissyen plays a role as a counterbalance to his twin.

His name is also (in some print editions of the Mabinogion) spelled "Nissyen," and his brother's name is also spelled "Evnissyen." For a summary of the story of Nissyen and Evnissyen, read Branwen,a wikipedia article about Branwen, The Daughter of Llyr.
