United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.3

mi²), all land.
As of the
census of 2000, there were 948 people, 278 households, and 232 families residing in the city. The
population density was 58.1/km² (150.5/mi²). There were 330 housing units at an average density of 20.2/km² (52.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.41%

other races, and 0.11% from two or more races.

Latino of any race were 4.32% of the population.
There were 278 households out of which 48.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.5% were
married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.5% were non-families. 10.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.41 and the average family size was 3.74.
In the city the population was spread out with 36.8% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 107.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $61,250, and the median income for a family was $62,059. Males had a median income of $41,250 versus $30,625 for females. The

The
town is dominated by the Woolstenhulme
family, who has lived here for generations and comprise most civic leaders. The town's
gasoline station and general store, Ken's Kash, was started by Ken Woolstenhulme. The town also features a
Mormon church and a
hamburger restaurant that is open in
summer. The towns of
Kamas and Peoa are its neighbors. The
Weber River flows nearby.
Oakley is most famous for its annual
rodeo, held each year on the Fourth of July weekend. This rodeo, sanctioned by the
Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, celebrated its 75th
birthday in
2005 with the opening of a $3 million, 6,000 seat-arena.
