People to People Student Ambassador Program

People to People Logo

People to People was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower during his administration. Eight presidents have since served as Honorary Chairman. The current Honorary Chairman is George W. Bush.

People to People Student Ambassador Programs are invitation-only programs that provide international educational opportunities for grade school, junior high school, and high school students. The journeys combine hands-on cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access to fascinating people and places, and amazing outdoor adventures to create life-changing experiences.

The Programs embody the mission set forth by Eisenhower to "promote peace through understanding" between individual citizens of the world. Over the past 50 years, Student Ambassadors have traveled to all seven continents (including multicultural Antarctica) to help President Eisenhower's vision of a better world, gaining maturity, confidence, self-esteem and friendship.

Some of the places visited include South Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Canada, China, England, Fiji, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, New Zealand, Scotland, and Wales.
