Pete Trewavas
Pete Trewavas (born
January 15,
1959) is an
English musician. He joined
Marillion in
1982, taking over the role of
bassist, from
Diz Minnit, whilst acting occasionally as a backing vocalist.
He was born in
Middlesbrough,
North Yorkshire,
England, but spent much of his childhood in the
Buckinghamshire town of
Aylesbury. It was in Aylesbury that he became involved in several bands, having most success with
The Metros, before taking up his long term role in Marillion.
Although still a full member of
Marillion, in recent years, Pete was also a member of the short-lived
progressive rock supergroup,
Transatlantic. In 2004, Pete co-founded another group called Kino, with John Mitchell (
Arena), John Beck (
It Bites) and Chris Maitland (ex
Porcupine Tree). Note that there is also another (
Russian) rock group called
Kino.
Trewevas has also appeared in
Prog Aid, the
Anthony Phillips charity project set up to raise money for victims of the
2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
