Ralphus
Ralphus was a
professional wrestling valet and truck driver for
World Championship Wrestling.
Ralphus started out as a truck driver for
World Championship Wrestling. He would drive their trucks to haul around the ring equipment from town to town.
In 1998, Ralphus was put on TV as the valet/assistant for
Chris Jericho. He would always have his pants falling down, which would reveal the crack of his butt. He even wore a dress when Jericho requested it.
Chris Jericho, on his website, posted an amusing explanation of why he stopped associating with Ralphus. According to Jericho, when Jericho was
WCW World Television Champion, Jericho and Ralphus met
Cindy Crawford and
Richard Gere at a party. Gere, in turn, introduced them to the
Dalai Lama, who taught Ralphus the 'Tibetan secret of clouding men's minds' a la
The Shadow. As Ralphus was planning to use Jericho's camera time to achieve world domination, Jericho said he had to go.
In 1999, Jericho left WCW and Ralphus switched allegiance to
Norman Smiley.
Ralphus got involved in Smiley's hardcore matches and even took bumps. They also filmed several hilarious vignettes. One had Ralphus and Smiley stealing a
backyard wrestling title belt from some children after Smiley pinned a child for it.
Some fans believe the on-screen persona of Ralphus was Chris Jericho's way of directly insulting WCW's
Kevin Nash, who (along with the
nWo), had been holding down WCW's younger talent. Ralphus, originally a truck driver for WCW, was brought in as a body guard for Jericho who admittedly patterned much of his in-ring persona after
Shawn Michaels. Several years earlier, Kevin Nash was brought in to the WWF as "Diesel", a truck driving body guard for Michaels.
