Roger Evans

:''This article discusses the Member of Parliament for Havering and Redbridge. For the former Member for Monmouth, see Roger Kenneth Evans.(Jeremy) Roger Evans (b. 1964) is a Conservative Party politician and member of the London Assembly for Havering and Redbridge. He is a former councillor and leader of the Conservative group in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Evans was born in Lancashire and moved to London in 1987. He worked for Royal Mail for 10 years before training as a Barrister. He was called to the bar in 1997 and is a member of Middle Temple. He worked as a legal advisor to an IT recruitment company.

Evans was elected to Waltham Forest council in 1990 and was the opposition spokesman on audit (1991), housing (1992), deputy leader (1993) and the youngest leader of the Conservative group 1994 â€" 1998.He was first elected to the London Assembly in 2000 and retained his seat in the 2004 election.
