Seth Meyers
Seth Adam Meyers (born
December 28,
1973) is an
American actor and
comedian best known as a cast member of
Saturday Night Live (
SNL).
Previous to
SNL, Meyers was a cast member of
Boom Chicago, an English language
improv troupe based in
Amsterdam[Biography from the NBC website]. He was also a member of the Northwestern improv sketch group
Mee-Ow.
Meyers joined
SNL in
2001. In
2005, he was promoted to writing supervisor, and in January 2006, he became co-head writer, sharing the role with
Tina Fey and
Andrew Steele[SNL undergoing another generational shift, an AP article from The Arizona Republic website]. With Fey's departure, Meyers has been named as head writer for
2007[Fey, Dratch Give Up Saturday Night, an E! Online news article].
He is currently writing (and will star in) a movie based on an
SNL sketch,
Key Party.
He was raised in
Bedford, New Hampshire and attended
West High School in
Manchester, New Hampshire, the crosstown rival of
Adam Sandler's alma mater, Central High School (Sandler and Meyers did not concurrently attend high school, however). He graduated from
Northwestern University. Seth is also an avid fan of the Red Sox baseball team.
His brother,
Josh Meyers, is also an actor and comedian who was a cast member of
MadTV. Josh Meyers also starred in
That '70s Show.
