Seyyedeh Khatun

Seyyedeh Khatun (d. 1029) was a sultaness of Buwayhids (Diylamids) of Ray (Rages), Isfahan and Hamadan (Buwayhid dynasty of Iran). After decease of her husband Fakhr o-dowleh the Diylamid, her 4-year old son, Majd o-dowleh (993-1029), officially inherited the reign, notwithstanidng she was the real ruler by the time of her decease.

During her rule she could protect her realm against powerful opponents namely Mahmud of Ghazni and Ghaboos of Ziyarid by her great policy. Shortly after her decease Mahmud of Ghazni captured Ray and the Buwayhid realm of Ray, Hamadan and Isfahan came to its end.
