Stacey Dash

Stacey Dash (born January 20, 1966 in The Bronx, New York) is an American actress, best known for her role as high school student Dionne Davenport in the 1995 film Clueless.

Career

Stacey started her carrer in the TV series Sesame Street as a child originally. Dash's first major film role was in the Richard Pryor comedy Moving in 1988. She also had sizable roles in Mo' Money and Renaissance Man during this time. But Dash received her big break with the film Clueless with Alicia Silverstone. Dash played the teenager Dionne Marie Davenport even though she was 29 at the time. Dash looked much younger than her age and was able to pull off the role.

The film eventually spawned a television spinoff in 1996 titled Clueless. The series, which lacked Silverstone, eventually was cancelled in 1999. She then went on to play Vanessa Weir in the television series The Strip. However, it was not a success and was cancelled after a handful of episodes.

Post-Clueless

After the TV series Clueless, Dash's career went dormant. Her credits include many little known movies, including Gang Of Roses, with Monica Calhoun, Lisa Raye, and Lil' Kim, and Getting Played with Vivica A. Fox and Bill Bellamy. She has also appeared as small guest roles on TV shows such as Eve and .

In 2004, Dash was featured in a music video by Kanye West, label mate of cousin Damon Dash, for the single "All Falls Down." Dash posed nude, at the age of 40, in the August 2006 issue of Playboy. She is also featured in the upcoming Michelle Pfeiffer film I Could Never Be Your Woman.

Personal life

Dash is the cousin of Damon Dash, the former CEO and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records. She is the sister of Darien Dash, CEO of DME Interactive Holdings, the first pubicly traded African-American owned internet company.
