The Kinsey Sicks
The Kinsey Sicks is, in their own words, "America's Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet".
In other words, they're basically a
San Francisco-based
a cappella group that started in 1993, consisting of four
gay men who perform in
drag. Their name is a play of words on "Kinsey 6", the totally homosexual end of the
Kinsey scale.
Usually they re-write lyrics to well-known songs for comedic and satirical purposes, though sometimes they write their own melodies. Their songs are often highly political and hilarious.
They have a significant following, especially amongst the
LGBT community, and they have performed in many gay friendly towns.
