Uma District, Ehime

Uma (宇摩郡; -gun) was a district located in Ehime Prefecture, Japan.

The district was dissolved when its component towns Doi and Shingu were merged into the city of Shikokuchuo on April 1, 2004.

As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 19,040 and a density of 115.05 persons per km². The total area was 165.50 km².

Mergers

*On April 1, 2003 the village of Besshiyama merged into the (expanded) city of Niihama.
*On April 1, 2004, the town of Doi and the village of Shingu merged with the cities of Kawanoe and Iyomishima to form the new city of Shikokuchuo.
