Urban Gothic

Urban Gothic was a horror based series of short stories shown on UK terrestrial Channel 5 running for two series between May 2000 and December 2001. Filmed on a comparatively low budget, it nonetheless acquired a cult following despite its late air time and the patchy coverage of Channel 5.Set in the city of London with an underlying story thread that only becomes clear in the last episodes, each episode was different in style to the others running the gamut of documentary style independent film to spoof to slick dramas similar in style to The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone.

Episodes

Series 1

*Dead Meat.: A pair of teenagers stumble across a corpse in an abandoned warehouse and decide to resurrect him with the aid of another two teenage companions.
*Vampirology: A documentary crew follow a genuine vampire for one night and learn his views on life, death and friends.
*The One Where: A woman meets a mysterious man in an art gallery who has the power to solve the things in life that "take a chunk out of you", but the old adage "be careful what you wish for" applies.
*Sum Of The Parts: People who have received donated organs start dying, and it looks like the donor wants them back.
*Deptford Voodoo: A social worker becomes embroiled in a confrontation between voodoo spirits and a young thief.
*Old Nick: A young boy and his mother move into a block of flats where strange deaths are common one of the neighbors is reputed to be the devil.
*Lacuna: Two drug addicts break into a mental hospital but are mistaken for residents.
*Cry Wolf: A grisly killing prompts the discovery of a feral man.
*Be Movie: A group of teenagers are trapped in a slasher film.
*Pineapple Chunks: A seemingly idyllic community reveals that beneath its pleasant exterior is an alien invasion force whose primary weapon is a tin of pineapple chunks.
*The Boy's Club: A young gangster tries to buy his way into 'The boy's club.'
*Turn On: A man has an android wife, but she is oblivious to the fact.
*Thirteen: A struggling reporter is chosen as the 'storyteller' of the city.

Series 2

*Sandman: Several people compete in a 'Touch the truck' style competition, fighting off sleep deprivation and the homicidal 'Sandman.'
*Membrane: A task force is sent into a laboratory to retrieve security footage, but come across evidence of human genetic experimentation.
*Necromance: A girl cast a spell to make her the object of her unrequited love's desire. Unfortunately, he is a necrophile.
*Eater: A cannibalistic serial killer is captured, but runs amok in the police station.
*Serotonin wild: Three teenagers are selected to undergo the 'Heizman test.'
*The End: The usual program is interrupted by a live video feed from two police officers and a hacker in the midst of an unnaturally violent riot.
*Ritual Slaughter: A therapist attempts to convince a young woman that her rituals do not prevent her violent thoughts from causing harm.
*Dollhouse burns: In an effort to control the heart of the city, the 'Institute' attempts to resurrect the 'White queen' but in doing so, they risk an apocalypse.
