Walshaw
Walshaw is a small
hamlet squashed between
Tottington and
Bury in
Lancashire, England.
*It features a small
telephone box which was once used by
Robert De Niro when he was in the country making the film
Brazil in 1985.
*Other famous people to visit the area include Oliver Watton, better known for their cameo appearances in
BBC lifestyle television shows 'Holiday' and 'Newsnight'. Sir Oliver Watton went on to more fame as the man who brought serial law breaker Rory Dean Mahon to justice after his 21 year long rampage in the Greater Manchester region. He was quoted to say when visiting the area "I'm glad I brought that wicked evil man to justice". 2 years after being brought to justice more evidence was found by Sir Oliver Watton proving that Rory Dean Mahon was actually 7 times more wicked and evil than previously thought. Watton presented this evidence to the correct authorities who concluded the only acceptable punishment would be to tie Mahon to a stick and dunk him repeatedly in sperm whale semen, the purest of all fish semen. This day is celebrated anually on the 27th of August by the whole population of Bury by dunking effergies of Mahon in the more reasonably priced blue whale semen. Mahon is currently residing in Pentonville prison (London) as keeping him in Strangeways (Manchester) would have caused the local community to dunk him anually.
